The All on 4: A Great Option for your Full Mouth Restoration

Return with a new smile after your All on 4 Dental Implants at Cancun Dental Specialists, Mexico. This treatment consists of the placement of four angled Implants and an Implant bar/bridge for the restoration of upper and lower teeth, being a patented Dental Implant Technique by Nobel Biocare.

This treatment is a great option for the Full Mouth and Full Arch Restorations. In both cases, we place four dental implants, and in others, more implants may be recommendable depending on the quality of your bone.

If you have been with untreated infections, wearing dentures for a long time, extensive periodontal disease, or missing teeth, you might have low bone quality. You must call our clinic and send us X-Rays to diagnose your case

All-On 4 vs. All-On 6 in Mexico A Direct Comparison

All-On 4 + Zirconia Prettau Bridge

Full arch Prettau Zirconia Bridge - All on 4

All-on 4 Dental implants are recommended for patients with low bone density levels, caused by the prolonged absence of teeth.

All-On 6 + Zirconia Prettau Bridge

Full arch Zirconia Structures with no Gums - All on 6

All-on 6 dental implants are recommended only for patients in which 4 dental implants may not be enough to achieve the full-arch restoration.

Teeth in a Day with All-On 4 Dental Implants

Is It Possible To Get Same-Day Teeth?

The so-called “immediate load”, “teeth in a day” or “same day teeth” consists of getting a temporary removable denture or PMMA fixed bridge during the All-on-4´s healing Period.

In the PMMA bridge option, the dentist will fix the prosthesis onto the dental implants right after the surgery or days after it. A PMMA bridge restoration costs $1,800 USD, and the diamond acrylic removable denture costs $580 USD.

We would need between 7 to 14 days to complete the surgical phase (1st phase) of your All-On 4 procedure. After the surgery, you will need to come back when implants are integrated into your jawbone and the soft tissue has healed. This healing period will last between 4 to 6 months, and then you will get your final permanent teeth.

All On 4 Restorative Materials Explanation

We are one of the Only Facilities in Mexico to offer many Restorative Options for your All on 4. Each is meant for different types of Patients or Treatment Options. The Price does not reflect the Quality, Fixed Hybrid is the Traditional Treatment Option, they were the first brought out to the market, great for people with soft bite, low budget, opposing denture. They are the least recommended options. Prettau Zirconia Bridge, Nano Ceramic, and Pekkton LiSi Bridge are Top of the Line Restorations.

Fixed hybrid

Materials:
The Fixed Hybrid Dentures are different from other fixed dentures as there is a titanium bar that runs throughout the structure of the restoration giving it better strength and stability. The titanium bar is milled using CAD/CAM technology to guarantee a precise fit over the patient’s implants.
Advantages:
Look and Feels Natural, Improved chewing, Easy maintenance, No restrictions on your diet, Improved appearance and self-confidence.
Disadvantages:
One disadvantage of Fixed Hybrid Dentures is that a small amount of food or bacteria can lodge its way beneath the dentures, causing some discomfort.

Prettau Bridge Zirconia Superstructure

Materials:
Zirconia is the result of a chemical process: the basis is zirconia sand, partially stabilized with yttrium and made into Zirconia blanks through a mechanical process. Among the dental ceramics available, zirconium oxide is without any doubt the material with the highest flexural and tensile strength. Ceramic chipping and abrasion to the antagonist are being avoided.
Advantages:
Prettau zirconia has a translucent quality like natural teeth, is much more stable, and actually form a supporting structure that minimizes any movement and stress on the implants, is more comfortable than other dental implant-supported solutions, offers high compatibility with the human body, is stronger and much more durable than acrylic.

Nano-Ceramic TriLor Hybrid

Materials:
Nano Ceramic is the most flexible ceramic available on the market and the only ceramic that actually flexes in the mouth. This flex makes Nano Ceramic Hybrid Denture durable and comfortable for the patient.
Advantages:
Feels like Natural Teeth, durable, lightweight, shock-absorbing, flexes under stress, stain-resistant, repairable chairside, adjustable chairside. Nano Ceramic is 60% lighter than zirconia and 6 times stronger than acrylic dentures.

Pekkton LiSi Thimble Hybrid Bridge

Materials:
The PEKK material used for Pekkton originates from the PAEK (PolyArylEtherKetone) materials family. High-performance polymers have found their way into orthopedics and traumatology since the 1980s.
Advantages:
Natural wearing experience, resembles the properties of natural bone, natural aesthetics, biocompatible, no metallic taste, high stability at low weight, suitable for implant-supported restorations.
Disadvantages:
One disadvantage of this high-performance polymer in prosthetic dentistry is the difficulty of achieving adequate bond strength to composite resin materials owing to its low surface energy and resistance to surface modification by chemical treatment.

All On 4 Dental Implants Cancun: Pre- & Post-Op Instructions

Pre-Op Instructions Prior To Coming

  • Don’t Smoke

    Before surgery (three weeks)

Smoking and dental implants don’t go together. Smoking Is The Main Factor For Dental Implant Failure? We know smoking can be difficult to quit but we insist that patients stop smoking at least three weeks before their dental implants.

On unusual occasions, we would ask you to stop smoking sooner, because it can interfere with your recovery, by reducing blood flow, which may prevent the incision from healing. We Highly Recommend You Quit Smoking Once You Commit To Your Dental Treatment.

  • Don’t Drink

    Before surgery (three weeks)

We know you will be on vacation and the all-inclusive bar might be tempting. You must stay away from any alcoholic beverage for a minimum of five days before your procedure. Alcohol causes increased bleeding, and the chances of infection, as well as depress immune functions and might interfere with wound recovery.

  • Prepare the list of medications

    Over-the-counter and prescribed

Please check with your physician about suspending any medication prior to arrival. We Have No Knowledge Of Your Medical History Prior To Your Arrival To Cancun It Is Very Important You Contact Once Of Our Dental Coordinator And Let Them Know What Medicines You Are Taking. Sometimes We Will Ask For A Letter From Your Physician To Suspend Certain Medication During Procedures Or Healing Process.

  • Take a look of your fridge

    Before surgery (three weeks)

It is essential that you maintain a healthy food plan. You will be on a soft mechanical diet or modified and adapted to your surgery, so you must follow these instructions. Get protein supplements like Ensure or Boost, as well as soft foods like well-cooked pasta, yogurt, eggs, broths, and soup. We will provide you with a list of dietary suggestions in your post-op packet as well.

  • Discontinue two weeks before until two weeks after surgery history

    Before surgery (two weeks)

    • You must consult with your physician before discontinuing any medication.

    • Any kind of anti-coagulants.
    • Vitamin E took internally.
    • If you have any doubt about these medications, please contact us

Important These medications may cause excessive bleeding.

  • Start two weks bofore till two weeks after surgery procedure

    Before surgery (two weeks)

During this period, we recommend you to take:

    • A multivitamin tablet – daily (most multivitamins contain some form of vitamin E, however, this is suitable to take before surgery. We will ask to avoid taking any extra vitamin E).
    • Vitamin A – twice a day: 8,000 to 10,000 units (this has well-documented beneficial effects on surgical healing and also will help your immune system).
    • Vitamin C – two times a day: 1,000 mg (after your surgical procedure your need for vitamin C will increase, and it is important for collagen synthesis, which helps to wound recovery).
    • Pineapple enzyme – twice a day (you find it on health food stores and it is a great help to relieve the swelling related to a surgical dental procedure. This anti-inflammatory promotes healing).
  • Get rest and appropiate nutrition

Before surgery: One week, until two weeks after surgery

    You must eat:

    • On each meal: a small amount of protein.
    • Daily: three green vegetables and two fruits (according to diet instructions).
    • Frequently: healthy meals.

Important Your food plan can useful resource for healing remarkably and decreasing swelling and pain.

  • Keep filled your prescriptions

    Before surgery (one week)

    • You may begin taking a topical anti-inflammatory every eight hours as directed and continue for 10 days.
    • Every 12 hours between meals, take pineapple enzyme as directed (it is an anti-inflammatory and helps to heal). Fresh pineapple is a good alternative.

Post Dental Implant Surgery Instructions

  • Your oral hygiene

Standards of good oral hygiene are critical for the success and functionality of the implants and restoration. The best way to prevent infection and ensure healing is to keep your mouth clean. Clean your mouth thoroughly after each meal beginning the day after surgery.

Use a soft-bristle toothbrush and toothpaste after meals and at bedtime. The use of a dental Waterpik is highly recommended to irrigate underneath the denture to flush out debris.

  • About Bleeding

After a dental implant surgery is normally pink or blood-tinged saliva for two or three days and does not indicate any problem, even minimal bleeding is expected. In this case, the best way to stop it is by placing a damp piece of gauze and softly biting for 30 minutes while rest keeping your head elevated.

In case the bleeding continues, repeat the gauze step for an additional 30 minutes. The suture material may last from two to three weeks, and you should not pull or cut the sutures by yourself.

  • Swelling

After any surgery, swelling is a normal reaction of the body and the first step to healing. In the beginning, swelling will not become visible until 24 hours after your dental implant surgery, and couldn’t reach its peak for two or three days. After this period, the swelling decreases but may persist from seven to 10 days.

You can minimize swelling by applying immediate ice packs to the outside of the face for 20 minutes on, and then 20 minutes off while awake for the first 24 hours.

  • In case of pain

First of all, remember that all medications must be prescribed and should not exceed the recommended dosage. Because most oral surgery is followed by some amount of discomfort, the surgeon may suggest taking any anti-inflammatory, non-steroidal medication (only if YOU ARE NOT ALLERGIC to it), before the local anesthetic wears off.

In case of intense pain, you should require calm pain medication under prescription, which will cause you to feel drowsy, so you shall not operate any mechanical machinery or drive while taking the prescription. About the post-operative antibiotics, they must be taken as directed and the entire course of the prescription.

For the first weeks after your dental implant surgery, you could also be prescribed an antibacterial mouth rinse which must be used two times a day.

  • Your diet

We suggest starting with liquids, after a general anesthetic or conscious IV sedation, and must avoid hot meals or hot liquids while numb. The limited food intake that is required for the first days could be compensated by increasing the fluid intake, with high protein shakes to replace meal supplements.

For the first six weeks you must follow a soft chew diet, so if you cannot cut easily any food, please avoid eating it.

  • Activity

8 hours after your dental implant surgery

For the first 48 hours after your dental implant surgery, you must rest and relax without any physical activity. After these 48 hours, you should resume activity as tolerated.

  • Food suggestions for first 6 weeks

    Eat:

    • Gelatin
    • Yogur
    • Pudding
    • Cream of wheat / Oatmeal
    • Mashed potatoes
    • Soups
    • Ice cream
    • Cottage cheese
    • Applesauce

    • Try to keep your lips moist with special ointments (such as Vaseline) to avoid the corners of your mouth drying and cracking.
    • Sore throats and pain when swallowing are not uncommon. The muscles get swollen and the normal act of swallowing can become painful. This will subside in 2 to 3 days.
    • Stiffness of the jaw muscles may cause difficulty in opening your mouth for a few days. Do not force your mouth open. Massage the muscles and apply moist heat.
    • With upper jaw implant treatment, you may develop bleeding from the nose. This is usually a temporary finding and will not persist past 2 to 3 days. Avoid blowing your nose for several days.
    • An appointment with your general dentist may be needed within a few days of surgery to make any adjustments to your temporary denture.
    • Your case is individual as no two mouths are alike. Discuss all questions or concerns with your oral surgeon or implant coordinator.

Dental Implants Reviews Mexico

Review Of Cancun Dental Implants For Cancun Dental Specialists.

All on 4 Treatment Alternatives

When we can place more dental implants, All On 6 or All On 8 treatments might be ideal for the patient. If the bone permits two more dental implants, we highly recommend an All On 6 procedure to our patients.

3 on 6 dental implants are a procedure used to replace all of the teeth on the upper or lower arches of the mouth. This procedure includes placing six implants on an arch of the mouth with three bridges attached directly to those implants.

Zygomatic dental implants are implants that are much longer than conventional implants (40 mm – 50 mm), and are placed in the dense Zygoma bone or otherwise known as the cheekbone.

Mini dental implants in Mexico are a great option if you are not a candidate for normal implants. It is also a great option for our Snap-on Dentures treatment.
